a 10" in the shelf will be extreemly quiet with no punch even if the boots sealed. it can make a huge difference going from 1.25 cubic feet in a box to 1.75 cubic feet when it comes to bass and volume. then the measurements of the internal diameters will be different too for a ported box, as well as taking into acount the size of the port.
its not as simple as just bolt it in if you want a great sounding system
