Engine Smell

Hi all I was wondering why my car smells so much from the engine when I open the windows when driving it stinks and you can't have the windows open I have done a colourtune and alls good but when you drive it you can't have the windows or vents open

its probably exhaust gas? and the boot lid seal?

Have you fitted the stupid filters to the breathers.,

It does have a little filter on the clutch housing breather

It does have a little filter on the clutch housing breather


Remove this and put the hose into a bottle to see if it breathes

There is no hose it's just attached to the breather itself

Search how the breathers were originally fitted and put it back how it was.The fumes should be recycled to the engine.Steve..

As mentioned above, I found this to be the boot seal. A small gap at the bottom allowed the sucking of exhaust back in.
