It looks like I can fit the rod change layshaft, layshaft bearings and the layshaft gears without issue and by eye and measurement, they’ll maybe work with the remote mainshaft, Any other parts??

I did a similar thing a few years ago, I had 4 rod changes boxes and wanted a remote. The amount of compatible parts will depend on the age of the rod change boxes, the early ones will share more parts.
The laygear and the main gear cluster can all be used
Diff & side covers can be used (rod change have the additional flange to hold in the plunger/spring but you can trim this off or leave it)
The reverse gear is different
Obviously the gear change mechanism is all different

I've recently put a set of rod change clubman straight cuts into a remote box. The only mod I had to do was to be able to fit the 3 step layshaft. I had to sort of countersink the laygear side of the casing web for the 1st layshaft step to fit properly.
Engine/gearbox fully built but only run on my garage floor. I actually didn't fit the remote change but did the magic wand conversion on the back of the remote diff.
p.s. Thanks Spider, forgot about the reverse gear; needed to change that.

Fewer problems likely if you can keep the gears as complete sets.

Depends a little of what vintage / type of Rod Shift Boxes you have, but even then, that's not insurmountable.
The Gearsets interchange, except for Reverse gear, in fact, the Rod Shift Boxes to 1978-ish had the same gear sets (except as noted, reverse).
From about 78 on, they went to a 3 step Layshaft, which the case has a counterbore for. There are 'short' 3 step layshafts about that let you fit these later Laygear in to the earlier cases, or going the other way, the early gear set will fit straight in to the later cases (except as noted, the remote Reverse gear).
The Selector Forks and Rods between the 2 types though are totally different.
The Diffs readily swap, however the side cover need to be the correct type to i) be used with the diff output coupling (Uni Joint, Pot Joint etc) and the correct one needs to be used on a rod shift, but any can be used on a remote type.
