Whats the minimum radius the accelerator cable can bend it to not be compromised in its performance.
My pedal stuck to the floor last week, then the cable luckily popped off the pedal end and the engine immediately went to idle.

I think the tight radius maybe restricting the smoothness. I am going to make a few changes but the best I can do with the filterin place is about a 10mm improvement. The filter pretty well touches the fuel rail.

Any suggestions

What make of throttle bodies are they, I know jenvey make a kit to convert the action to side pull, it bolts on the top of the body and pulls along the engine line.

That looks way too tight to me. I would have it as big as possible.

Just a thought what return spring(s) have you fitted.

That is currently as the air filter backplate is within about a mm of the fuel rail.
I can change to sock filters which I have reservations about in comparison to the itg I'm running currently and that would allow me to have whatever radius I want but then I have to plumb my breathers into something else
I have taken it off and it seems to run freely when I bend it by hand

Well not that in particular. But it might be an idea to add one to the cable attachment so the cable is pulled back. Just be aware of wear.

So the MPI has it on the pedal instead of engine side?

Could you run the throttle cable round a pulley like this?

This is a mountain bike item (cog hog) from the 1990's to improve cable routing into the rear derailleur but would probably plug straight into the throttle cable ferrule if you can find one.

I just had a look at the AT site and the cablemlinkage pull can be to 1 side of Central. If I can change it to the side it might avoid the filter enough but that able router is a great

A pedal spring will just lift the weight of the pedal. It won't do much to feed the cable back to release the throttle(s).

The bends don't look too bad to me, but there looks to be a bit of a kink where it enters the ferrule on the bracket. Will it run underneath the manifold? I'd have thought that might be a bit more direct and shorter route.

Also, if the cable came loose at the pedal, do you have a retainer clip, NAM6923?
