I have a 1980 Mini that's been gathering dust for 25 years, and now finally planning to get around to getting it back on the road! It's basically a pretty solid shell with a knackered engine.

My first plan was an EV conversion, but having looked into that have found the costs to be prohibitive.

So now my plan is an engine swap. Not looking for any sort of hotrod, car will jsut be used as a local run around. Googling various engines the common k11 micra swap caught my eye and made me wonder if anybody has done a k11 - the reason being is I have an 1.0l Micra K12 with only 40,000 miles on the engine, so ideally I would like to use that as a donor.

HAve been struggling to find any info on this - has anybody done it, and ideally has a build thread?!

Hi bud first things first if your on Facebook get yourself onto the nissan powered classic mini page :) lots of people have done the k11 engine swap including myself and it's great all round swap that being said I'm afraid I only know of 1 person who's done a k12 engine swap and that was in a clubman which required bulkhead mods to clear the gear linkages. I had always wanted to look into the K12 swap more as I make subframe for the k11 swap but haven't got round to it yet. Build thread is here for the k12 clubman https://just-technol...ine-conversion/ :) I can help you lots with a k11 swap tho if you decide to go that route but would also be keen to see someone do a k12 swap :)

Hi, not sure if you are still looking for info on this swap but I've been trialling the K12 Micra engine and found that it will fit without bulkhead mods if making a new intake manifold however the tie bar mounts will need to be moved outwards from there standard location in order to clear the engine. That's all the information I have so far I'm afraid
