Only later Minis (approx 1980's onwards) with the large VIN Plates as shown below show the Paint and Trim Codes, as said usually found on the RHS inner wing (Drivers side UK).

What a pity my car is a 1977, that is a much more sensible way to do the colour code, my car is not old english white, so I'm thinking maybe snowberry white ( wt4 ) anybody know if this was used on a 77 mini 1000 ?

Could you get your car to a decent automotive paint supplier with the equipment to scan the paintwork and see if you get an accurate colour code?

I'd pick a spot that isn't exposed to sunlight incase it has faded. I'd suggest somewhere like the boot area or behind the rear seat squab.

You may get an answer form British motor heritage as if you're located in London, you should have an english-built Mini.

I have a 1979, and cannot get infos from them as mine has been built in Belgium and there are no records anymore.

But I know it was originally black and never repainted. But won't be black after the restoration.

That's going to be my only chance of getting the colour code methinks

Even if you knew the code the shade of new paint is unlikely to match the existing,Steve..
