I know there are those who appreciate, and those who don't, chucking a Mini shell onto a 4x4 chassis....

Me I think they are brilliant, and whenever I see one... I gotta ask the who what when where and why.....

But I'm yet to see an Estate/pickup done in this manner... Is it because of finding the right wheel based vehicle? Too much hassle anyway? Or is it just because no one ahs done it...yet...?

Anyone else? Or is it just me....?

Peace x

mini's are a bit like rule no.34

if you can think of it, someone's done it

AFAIK one classic method is to transplant the suzuki Vitara chassis

I once saw some videos of a scooby powered 4x4 mini, it was a monstrosity but technically it was still a mini

I suppose the question becomes where do you draw the line at 'it's not a mini anymore' which is a whole other debate

Someone did an estate body on a Subaru Justy 4WD floor pan years ago. I seem to remember the wheel bases are very close.

The old Fist Panda 4x4 is almost the same length as well.

Achim Korden, known from his "RingMini" (a Honda-powered Mini driven on the Nurburgring in Germany), has built a pickup with a 4wd system. I don't know what components he used, but maybe you can find out on his Facebook page/between his Facebook pictures: https://www.facebook...ringmini/photos. Now I'm reading this: https://hirundomotor...ject-squirrell/

and it seems he converted his saloon to 4wd as well, using a Honda CRV drive system.
