Hi all.
How do you people paint the inside of your front wheel arches?
My paint gun won't fit and I can't see an easy way of getting around this.

All ideas welcome 😁

Pete.

Depends on the finish you are after

If you want textured stone guard then the easiest way is it use a tiltable stoneguard which you can add your body colour to and then apply it with a schutz gun

If you want smooth shiny topcoat finish then you can do it with the spray gun but wil need to reduce the fan size right down and up the pressure and spray it through the headlamp hole as well as from under the arch but you need patience as it's not easy.

Other option might be a mini spray gun which would give you better access but you will still be working blind

I was just going to paint underseal under there with a paint brush.. is that not normal

A slightly more utilitarian approach perhaps

I normally use a bitumen based paint of the sort used to protect the hulls of narrow boats. It's fantastic stuff which I get from my friend who owns a marina in our village.

It is applied with a normal paint brush.

I'm actually talking about epoxy primer, I have new wings and A panels and I've rubbed down the inner wings.
I tried doing what Ben said but the finish is dry and rough. Should I thin the primer down a bit with 2k thinners? .

All depends on the needle size in your gun

smaller needles require the paint to be reduced more or you will get a dry finish.
