Hi all,
As I plan to swap my fuel tank on the SPI to an other fuel tank (to be modified for Injection), I need to find out what my options are for the fuel pump.
As the new tank is quite shallow, I cannot get away with the mini SPI pump fitted into the tank. Perhaps if I could it sideways, it might fit, but chances are slim and I need to locate a different fuel strainer (that runs parallel to the fuel pump instead of perpendicular like original. Any pointers to such a screen/strainer are more than welcome.)
But I guess the best way would be to go the external fuel pump route. But at what pressure would be best (normal 1275 SPI need 1Bar/15 PSI I read)
Maximum fuel pressure at the fuel pressure regulator:
On the SPI there is afuel pressure regulator in the TBI (Throttlebody). How much presure could it sustain (would 45 PSI/3 bar be OK, as most in-line fuel pumps that I find are delivering 3 Bar or more).
If anyone has that information or links to that information I'd be very happy if you'd share them. Any experiance with an SPI and an external pump is welcome. (Part numbers even more ;))
Cheers,
Johnmar
