HI all
Thanks for the add to the forum. Long car history with all sorts of cars and many Japanese performance cars. (Think evo's, Sti etc) but Recently purchased an interesting 1995 JDM Mini Cooper called a "Chamberlain 1300R" and will get some pics up soon and the details I could find on the net.
From what I have found out is they were Mini Cooper 1.3i Japan spec and converted from new by Englishman, Hugh Chamberlain, who was building cars for lotus and Jaguar race cars at the time. The were sold NEW in Marukatsu dealership in Japan.
The 1300R was converted to 45 weber, 421 exhaust and static compression taken to 12.7:1 and reduced with use of a 296 Scatter Cam to give a 10.5:1 dynamic ratio, Spax Hilo's and flares all original fitment as were the Chamberlain badges and side decals. The wheels are a brand called Watanabe, famous light weight wheels well known in the Drift car community.
Carrying out some restoration at the moment and will contribute to the forum as i go. (once i figure out how to upload photos ill get a few up)
