Hi all, I would like to change the Rover MEMS 2J MKC104292 to aftermarket ecu which still use its own siamese inlet. I about to go for 1,380cc multiweb with 270-280 cam. Rover oem ecu may not cope this kind of level. Many go for specialist components but that comes with new throttle body. I have to stay with siamese inlet since the mpi enigne is really rare here in my country. I am not sure what options between 1.sending my rover oem ecu to let someone install the chip/rom to make it mappable or 2. change to aftermarket like haltech, emerald, etc

The Polestar ecu can be used, but I'm yet to see one on an MPi make any decent result. The standard ecu is being opened up and there are a few people that can now map it.

You must have one that can run sequential with only two large injectors. It has been a long time since I researched ECU but I suspect that very few can do this. You do not want to be worse off,Steve..

There's more to it than just running sequential. The MPi has a VERY unique injector firing sequence.

Indeed,I faced the same problem twenty years ago with my MGB.The complexities were so great that I ignored them and blindly went ahead.Still working,Steve..

Do you have any more info on this?
I haven’t been on this forum for ages and have a 1380 Mpi but running standard ECU. I wasn’t aware that the standard ECU had been “cracked” 😆 I was always under the impression is was uncrackable lol or wasn’t worth the effort
