Morning all
Just after some advice regarding my rover mini spi.
The temperature gauge on dash has just decided not to work, so I was told it was the temperature sensor under the manifold.
I changed this and still doesn’t work.
When the engine is running for a while it starts to run ropey (rough) this could be due to engine running to rich maybe?
Help and advice would be appreciated
Thanks

you can tell if it's rich by checking plugs, the temp sender plug comming off and melting onto exhaust manifold will cause this. is the plug for the sender ok? and if you link it to earth does gauge read. works the same as normal gauges by switching to earth just a different plug and location, so same checks as for normal system which are covered on other posts on here.

Get yourself a diagnostic cable from ebay and a copy of Rover Mems. This will tell you if your temperature sensor is working or not. The temp sensor sends the data to the ECU which adjusts the fuel mixture accordingly.
