Hi I have been searching what cam to get for my turbo build and I have decided on the Phase 2 cam but I have now seen the MED T3 camshaft. Is the Phase 2 worth the extra money? or are the cams basically the same?

Thanks

I dont have any experience with the med cam but the phase 2 is widely used and produces very good results in all sorts of state of tune and different turbos. There are milder cams used. I have run both the phase 2 and phase 3. The phase 2 had good road manners and pulled hard from 2500 revs with a gt1752 and mega jolt.
I am sure you will get a reply from other peoples experiences with other cams also.
Good luck.👍

Cheers yeah I have not heard anything bad about the Phase 2 cam. But not much about the T3. The T3 cam is quite a bit cheaper.

Phase 2 has always been to go to cam for turbo builds. People have made 200hp on that cam. I use one in my engine

The T3 is kind of untrodden ground. The Ph2 is well documented to be the best turbo cam on the market, it caters well, however if you're after mega power, custom cam all the way.

Never mind the 200 hp figure, what is the every-day torque like ?

It's mainly because the MED T3 cam is £80 cheaper. But can't find any one really using it. So I think it's going to have to be the Phase 2 cam.

from the figures they look pretty similar, both 264/290 degree's ish.

I would look at what they are ground on, although at only 80 quid difference, its not like ones going to be a billet grind...

If your looking more at torque rather than all out power, then the KC500 ( NA mg metro cam)  and the BP270i are also worth a look. i know of someone that made about 180hp on the MG metro cam, and the 270i is ground on a wide LCA making it especially turbo suitable due to the low overlap
