Hi, just wondered if anyone would kindly help explain how I remove the glass on the later plastic door mirrors? I can see there's a black frame. so is it just a case of levering this apart from the main body of the mirror? Many thanks.

I've always thought the black bezel was glued to the body so not meant to be removed.

Has the glass broken?

Hi Mike, thanks for your reply. The glass is badly scratched, probably best to buy another one then. Cheers mate.

Replacements are available from MiniSpares. They look to have the bezel included so maybe the old one doesn’t come out unscathed.
I usually find having the new piece in your hand helps work out what needs to be done to disassemble

The Minispares replacement plastic mirrors are glued to the back of the mirror housing. Mine somehow has detached itself (the quality of the glue, and the mirror as a whole, is not really good as originals). The glass themselves just sits there with minimal glue/double-sided tape to hold it. With care and perhaps a bit of heat, you can take them off, replace it with new glass, and re-glued them back in place.

If you're going to replace the glass, just break it and take it out in pieces. You'll be able to see how it was held in once you've got the old glass out of the way.

Is it a colour coded casing and if so what colour? I’ve a few NOS mirrors in random colours/sides.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated :-) Yes it's the colour coded in gloss black.
