Question For Ac Dodd - Engine Optimisation Required

SO, my 998 A+ that came in my Clubman Estate is overfuelling but generally quite flat.... Its also drinking oil (max to min in circa 500 miles)
It's had new piston rings (wasn't bored as the builder felt it wasn't needed) , new crankshaft bearings and thrusts, gearbox has had the gearing changed as it was easier for my builder to use a good used box than rebuild mine.
I need someone to optimise fuelling to AC Dodd techniques in the Fife area of Scotland (any recommendations are welcome and the car is driveable as needed)
It is myself who commented on the On The Road tuning video š
Regards
Calum

Hypotune in Aberdeen, RS Motorsport in Lanark Area, and A Wilson and son in Leven. If itās had new rings and itās burning that much oil I would suggest you have washed the bores due to rich running
Ac
That's what I was thinking too, is there any way to remedy bore wash without stripping the engine?
Thanks and kind regards

If your mini has any flat spots or runs rich, get it tuned by someone who has been trained by AC, it's very affordable for the transformation your car will receive, totally night and day.
Thanks to AC Dodd for training Jim, and of course Jim for getting my car to where it is.

Yes, the engine is ideally needing a rebore, down slightly on compression on all cylinders but more so cylinder 2, a pain in the butt but I can live with it now šThat's great news buddy. Did he also get to the bottom of your Oil consumption issues?
Oh and it turn out that my timing and advance was only 1° out... without a timing light, not bad for a 65D electronic dizzy (from a late carb 1275) that was 2nd hand on ebay 5 years ago šš really happy today, I'll be using the car more often going forward

Thanks for the feedback on Jim and your experience, I used your words in a post on my FB page, I hope you donāt mind, thankyou,
Ac
Hi AC,
No I don't mind you using my feedback as the work and knowledge that you have is such an inspiration to myself.
Jim also took some images of the car after he had worked on it, feel free to use them if Jim will let you!
The car drove a million times better, even up a fairly steep hill (usually I'd have to drop into 3rd gear to maintain 50mph BUT it laboured away in 4th down to 55mph)
The way the car picks up speed and no fumes either.
Thanks again š

Now you know what a mini should go like after a tune up, enjoy!

Hey no problem, now you know why I do it as the skills are in short supply and I canāt tune them all. Secondly people donāt realise how much performance they are loosing out on by not having the engine dialled in properly.
Now you know what a mini should go like after a tune up, enjoy!
Ac
I will do š

Quick update, sent the car to Jim Wilson today, to say I'm impressed is an understatement, the car is night and day.

Where's Jim Wilson based Cal?
