Vim is still a thing https://www.diy.com/...r/258684_BQ.prd but I wouldn't have thought it would do a lot of good for the engine but who knows. maybe in a tractor, certainly not in an E type
which one was it they made a big deal out of changing the name 'because the foreigners can't pronounce it' .. Cif / Jif or something I can't remember which was the original name
I call opal fruits opal fruits, and give measurements in feet and inches (even though I was born in the 80s) because I like seeing if they understand you or if they look confused lol

In the real world we have 'health and safety' to protect idiots from themselves, online idiots don't have the same safety net.

Oh come on mate,,,,,, If it's on the Internet, it's true,,,,,
Bust seriously, while we did have VIM here (Aust), the common product was a local brand, Ajax.
If the engine was new and glazed, a small, very small amount sometimes worked. It was hit and miss but not something I'd do !
The Repco guys when developing the Repco Brabham engines did have trouble with some engines breaking in, they'd go for the Ajax, though,,,, not always successful.

I remember back in the late 60's hearing that the Saab service crew reputedly cured a slipping clutch with a dose of coca cola and vim. Probably on either The Welsh or RAC of maybe 1969.
Never knew if it was true but it was a good yarn.

We had Ajax as well. At about the same time as Izal 'medicated' bog paper - the slipperiest bog roll ever made.

Not if you sprinkled Ajax on it first
