Hi, my Automatic Mini is going in the garage for some work done and I need to know what my expectations should be…

* Do your autos idle as smooth in gear as in neutral?
* Is your shift between neutral and First/Drive a noticable movement of the whole car?
* Do your auto minis ever stall?

Thanks 🙂

I've limited experience, but have owned an automatic 998cc mini in the past. My idle was the same in N, as when it was in Drive. I would usually get a little jerk forwards when moving from N into drive/first.

The stalling you mention in this thread (and I noticed your last thread too regarding stalling at the lights) I am unsure of. Does it happen when you leave the car in fully automatic mode, as well as if you come to a stop coming through the gears 'manually'?

Have you checked/changed the oil recently? Automatics are quite sensitive to oil changes, grades, and filling amounts (specifically the torque converter inside)
