They shouldn't need a sealant, just the rubber, the frame should compress it on to the edge of the glass.

I would either use an old bike innertube as a gasket between the frame and the glass, or if that proves too tight/thick then sikaflex or tigerseal pu sealer (I think this is what you're asking)

I wouldn't go for something like Sikaflex in case you ever have to get them off again, probably plain old "B&Q" silicone would be better. I hadn't looked to see if new seals are available, but I'd guess you can find something suitable, for greenhouses maybe.

Will be getting the door wind up window seals soon, as the others available are too thick.
Ben
Ps: it's only 1mm thick rubber like inner tubes tho.

I've got to do the same job over winter as my glass is rattling in the frame as the rubber has perished. Minispares sell this http://www.minispare...86.aspx|Back to. But seams quite thick? Has anyone used it

I think I might head down the inner tube route to gauge whether that will work.

I had a thunk.
If you're improvisin, rim tape would be an even better pinch from bike bits than an inna toob.

The link to the stuff in minispares is what I looked at but looks way too thick. I saw a YouTube video of an Australian guy using what looked like tape but was essentially thin rubber. I googled it and it was ridiculously expensive.

Yeah I thought that as I have a length for another job. I had a look on the MK1 forum and found someone using this sort of stuff but he recommended 8mm wide, 5mm internal width and 10mm overall height. This is all I can find atm. https://www.ebay.co....:Bk9SR976u-31YA

I started this job today, I bought the closest size I could to the above dimensions but is too wide being 9mm wide. I then had a quick search and found this video on youtube which they use glass setting tape. This is the only company in the UK that I could find that sells it. https://www.crlauren...07&ModelID=1679
