This has been discussed loads of times I have searched but can't really find a answer.
With the mini sport 7.9" 4 pot calipers they say some 10" wheels fit. Is there a way to tell before I buy the wheels like certain off set wheel?

The alloys I want aree OS4 Turbo Alloy Wheel and are ET-7

There is probably more to consider than the offset,casting thickness,spoke? design,shape of inside the wheel,Steve..

Any reason you want the 7.9s? 7.5s will work just as well and give you unlimited choice of 10” wheels

I would of thought 7.9" would be better than 7.5" being slightly bigger and also vented discs.

 Vented is not always better as cold pads are crap. 7.5 with the carbon pads that MiniSpares do will give all the braking you will need on 10s.

 Back to your question. I would ask the seller. If they don’t know I would walk away.

They know what wheels what they sell fit but not other makes. 7.5“ looks like the easiest option it's just weird going back to solid discs

That's what I use on my 1964 rally 'S' and even on very hard events on tarmac, with the carbon-metallic pads and race brake fluid I get no brake fade even when the 7.5" discs are glowing literally red hot.

With a light car like the Mini, it is possible to have brakes which simply don't get warm enough to work. On a road Mini vented discs are really a bit 'overkill'.

Okay so current build has 7.9 wheels and 4.5x10" minilights.
Fitted all the hubs discs calipers as per the kit provided. All looks good.
Put the wheels on looks magic. Well chuffer...

Gutted...
They appear to rub the rim... annoying... currently putting it down to possible corrosion on the inside of the rim that will be attended to in due course, obviously.

Is there a list of wheels that actually fit underneath these 7.9" calipers?

I'm running KAD 7.9" calipers and vented discs with these 6x10 Minilites.

running 10" revolutions on gf's car with minisport 7.9 four pots, rims clear ok but watch out for weights they may catch, someone else in club made me aware of this when he fitted them and had same issue with minilite alloys

7.5 inch discs have a smaller inner diameter too. They have a pretty similar piston & pad area to 8.4's. 

 

Pretty sure all the 4 pots are based on the Metro's, so bigger discs give proportionally better leverage (retarding torque) & disc area, affecting warm up & cooling rates.
