Has anyone tried this type of fan for cooling in the uk? As mini spares sell it along with there original fan. This fan below in the photo is however 5 times the price of the original.

Is it really any better? Has anyone experimented?

They are known as an Export Fan. For our off road Mokes, that's all we run. The move the most air of any of the factory fans.

They also make twice as much noise.
To be totally honest I cannot beleive a mini in the UK would need one.

Living in a tropical country, where temperature rarely dip down below 24 degree celsius, the export metal fan is the one I choose (especially when turning the air con on) in conjunction with an electric fan on the inner wing. For the UK, I believe the standard 11-blade plastic fan is more than adequate to provide cooling.

Hello, if you want my opinion I will tell you that I put it to avoid heating. And yes, it cools a little more than the plastic one.
It is no louder than the original. In three years that I have taken it, it never made any noise or whistle.

They are way louder than plastic, (actually drive mine), found on the move with a hot 1380 cooled better, jn traffic though the plastic is way more efficient.

Sold both of mine and back to plastic, better getting a decent water pump and perfect your pulley ratio setup imo.
