I currently have my column stalks off the car. It is a bare shell rebuild and I will be making a new loom. So I have these on the bench with a 12v battery and a multi meter making a note of what each wire does.
I have 99% figured out all the wiring but am stuck on a loose black wire and the washer wiring.
There is a green/black wire coming out of the washer stalk. But of course when pressing this it needs to make a circuit and one wire can’t do that on its own. So I figured that when you press the stalk it competes a circuit, the final bit of the circuit perhaps being an earth?
But if the power gets to the stalk via the solid green wire, then I am not sure how the 12v supply gets to the washer stalk.
The loose black wire in the picture would make sense to earth to the column itself correct?
However, I was confused as this is sharing a connector with a green wire which I understand to be the 12v power source to that stalk. When I feed 12v to the stalk via the solid green wire, the black wire reads 12v too of course.
Where do I connect that black wire please?
And what is it that competes the circuit when I press the washer button?
Thanks in advance
