Hi again,

I'm looking in rewiring my mini and want to add some features. I was wondering if the right side of the roof is the same as the left side where the tail light wiring room is running? I want to run some extra cabling and think the left side will be a bit packed.

felt around at the front and the back but could not conclude anything.

Thanks!

Right side shouldn't be any different to the left, but there should be plenty of space alongside the existing loom for additional cabling (..depending of course on what you are intending)

I've run 3 extra power wires in the right side of the roof before replacing the headlining in my mk1. Just in case!

Depends on the age of the car.  The later ones with metal check straps have a separate hole for the loom in the left hand A pillar.  There's no separate hole in the right hand pillar so any cable would have to share the hole for the end of the check strap.  Possibility of cable damage there.  If you can drill a second hole fine, but if not stick to the left hand A pillar.  I managed to get a cable through the loom hole on the left hand side  and could have probably got a few more in.

For earlier cars with cloth check strap you'll probably have to drill a hole in the right hand pillar anyway.
