Hi folks

I'm doing a ground up 1988 mini restoration and was very surprised to find that some parts are very hard to find.

I'm trying to keep the mini as original as possible but the one I started on is missing its driver seat.

No problem really as I have locate an appropriate replacement. The thing is I can't get the fabric  to cover it. I have perfectly good covers for passenger and back seat in Crayon (or cooper racing crayon-vertical stripes) but the same material for my driver seat seems to have vanished of the map. If you have any information  I love to know about it.

Also I'm lookin for steel wheels 12x 6 (or 6.5) with chrome hub caps. Am I mad or what?

Talk to me

Try Newton Commercial for the fabric.

the Mini never had wheels of that size.

OK thank you. The problem is that Newton have the fabric but will only sell 2 made up seats for about £600. I was hoping to do better than that.

I’ve got the same Mainstream Cooper seats and have read similar posts about that fabric being hard to get. £600 sounds steep, but considering the model hasn’t been produced for 32 years, and you’ll get a factory spec quality product that will last another 30 years. Sadly not many other options if you want it original.
