In the true sprit of fixing things that aren’t broke. I’ve recently switched my 382 indicator bulbs to leds, unfortunately even though I’d previously fitted electronic flasher relays for both the indicators and hazards nether worked (hyper flashing) with the lower current draw from the leds (Was kind of expecting it to be honest).

So I’ve since bought and fitted a pair of replacement led flasher relays for both the hazards and indicators, so both now flash at the correct rate.

My issue now is, the new indicator relay mounted behind the dials is too quiet to be heard over the engine while driving. My old electronic flasher relays had a nice load addable tick, tock,/clicking.

As I’m not too fused about how audible the hazards are, would it be possible to use a standard 30amp 4 pin relay (with audible clicking) and wire (piggy back connectors) pin 86 to the solid green wire on the flasher relay and pin 85 to earth (the new relays use an earth anyway)?

Or would I have to wire pin 86 to green and pin 85 to light green and brown, so across the flasher relay?

And leave the other 2 pins of the relay unused (I have some pre wired relay pugs so I could just remove the unneeded wires).

I fitted one of these to the Indicators;-

(the version with 'buzzer' though it's a beeper).

It was VERY loud though, I put a wrap of rubber tape over the hole that the sound emits from and now it's perfect.

That’s the same flasher relay as I’ve just bought/fitted, although the one without buzzer (but my relays do click, just not audible over the noise of the engine)

Would the extra standard relay work? As I already have the parts and wiring (to save having to buy/wait for deliver etc).

You can fit the standard flasher can back in there. In order to get the LEDs to flash, you'll also need to add a 3.5 ohm, 50 watt (though 75 or 100 would be better), resistor to each side (not each corner). You could fit these behind the dash, or at the front or rear lamps. This will give the load needed to make the Flasher work as it should.

Would a 12v 75db buzzer wired across the flasher relay be too loud? Although it would be hidden up under the dahs behind the dials.

You could try it, I think it will be on the loud side, but you can always muffle it with something.

I use one of these in conjunction with the Oil Lamp

I can't find how many dB it is, but it is quite loud !
