Frequently after repair work to the early Mini doors and ‘A’ panels the gap between the door and the body reduces in size. Due to this the original door seal can be too big and the door will not close comfortably. Complete the Blue Tack test to find the gap width. This will then determine which seal is required as listed in this link:-

This is usually down to restorers welding the mk1 A panels in the wrong place, easy to spot if you know what you're looking for.
