Hi all,

My 19yo has his test later this month. Assuming he passes, he’ll need non-learner insurance.

1987 Mayfair 998 with a stage 1 kit & minilite wheels.

Any recommendations for a sympathetic insurance company please?

Thanks,

Andy

2 ways to look at this. Either
Just get the cheapest possible until he gets to the age where fees are not stupidly expensive.
Pay extra to start getting the points / bonuses to reduce the costs.
Don't get me started on the ******* that is an excuse for insurance providers.

I would use one of the comparison sites to get an idea of costs, then go to the specialist classic insurers ( Adrian Flux, Performance direct, etc). When I did my sons adding me to the insurance reduced the cost and also set mileage can keep costs lower. Good luck hope he passes.

I maybe a little out of touch as my boys have had licences for a few years now but a few classic car policies wouldn’t cover them until    they were either 21 or 25 years old .
