Hello.  Im quite new to working on minis.

I have an SPi which has had some tinkering with by the previous owner.    I was having trouble with fueling, stuttering, bucking, not running right, so  Im working my way through the common bits, vaccuum pipes, coolant sensors, inlet manifld pipes etc

Not sure what kind of exhaust I have, or how to tell, except that I have twin, rear exit pipes.  I dont know how to tell if the header is standard or not.

I have removed the Lambda sensor - there are no markings on it whatsoever, and I have bought a new genuine Bosch one, the part number is 0 258 003 193 /  MHK10004.

The old one I took out seems to be 1/3 smaller than the new Bosch one!

So do you think the one I took out was incorrect, or is the new one potentially the wrong one - given that my header may not be "stock"?

tia

Below is a pic of the 2 sensors side by side - quite a size difference.   But the new Bosch seems to have the same thread size and depth into the exhaust, so im guessing the one I took out is just not original.

Can anyone advise - is that a standard header?

Interestingly the new Bosch doesnt seem to have any label or markings on it either.

In my knowledge, the Bosch is not the same as the MHK!

If it is an early spi then there must be a connection between one of the four wires to the body of the probe. MHK doesn't have it.

No idea to the header.( bad picture!)

Oh ok, apologies. I understand now.    I thought they were the same item just with a different part number.
