I have a 97 MPI with factory fitted electric sunroof which has shrunk and needs replaced (webasto). Anyone had one replaced and by who as I think it could cause me stress - lol. I am in Ruislip but will travel to get it done within reason. Thank You

Not the rover size you can’t. Been there, tried that, got the carbon roof to prove it aha.

Somerford has them, changed my girlfriends 2000 Cooper one.
Not sure who can change it for you though.

i know you can get the fabric webasto as some dealers still have old stock of them, i looked at going down that route but actually decided to go the carbon route as well. the bristol sunroof guys were really helpful and they are a webasto dealership. i found them really helpful to deal with and have plenty of spares.

Hope thats helpful

Thank You for responses - I spoke to a guy at Carmagic in Harrow (a few miles from me) he said he’s done a few Mini’s in the past and to bring it down for a look/see. Somerford supplied and Tallulah is now in the work shop, got a call saying roof lining is shot so windows coming out and to redo lining..money money money - donations please lol

Meant to ask I said webasto but I’m not sure if it’s made by them, it’s 48 x 34 approx so it’s not like the Mini open one which I think is a square 34 x 34 approx. Is this what Midas MK1 referring to? I need a dry day to take it out and they are rare - lol

I'm pretty sure I have read a thread where it was suggested to replace with something else, perhaps mohair, by a trimmer.
Think this was based on the grounds of reducing the shrinking effect.

I have seen it done and looks much better and lasts longer. It was a long time ago and I never asked where he got it from (pre made, he fitted it) as I didn't have a need for one at the time...
Depends if you can find one or someone to make it directly. If someone knows where to get them (pre-made, direct replacement) , I'm all ears. 😁

Hi, How did it work with the Somerford roof? I can see now they only have : https://www.somerfor...e-header-footer which is a replacement I guess.
