Hi, ive been doing a mini clubman 1275 GT up over the last year, nothing has been moving fast so not really opened a topic about it! I thought i would start from now as things are progressing quickly, im at the point of putting my engine together in the next two weeks as well as having the car sprayed and returned for finishing!

The engine started life as a 1275 GT engine with 52,000 genuine miles on the clock. I stripped it all down and stored the parts whilst i had the block sent to Perfect Bore (My dads company) to rebored to 1293 and have the head skimmed. I also got my hands on a set of JE Pistons to suit new bore size and to match the loss of weight got some Carrillo con rods made up. These turned out to be tricky as they were designed for the Sprite, or Cooper S so the big ends were smaller than 1275 GT sizes. I decided to have the crank then sent to my dads other company Chambon Crankshafts where they Reground the big ends and mains to suit the new rod sizes and new bearings for the mains. I also had it nitrided to 0.5mm and fully ballanced. I purchased myself a Piper CAM 286 to increase the performance. This is the first mini or car for that matter that i have ever touched so if anyone can tell what sort of performance i might get from these parts that would be great. I also have a stage 1 kit for it and have had the head fully polished.

Pictures also include my clubman which is going for body work and respray on sat, im having it in the orange you can see, Ford Pheonix Vista, with a black roof. It has the zeemax clubman body kit on it.

Yeah certainly in my case, this engine wouldnt be what its going to be without those parts. Ive seen the RRP's and thanked him alot! Im glad hes got the contacts. Any suggestions on parts before i go putting it all together? Ive got duplex coming and replacing the usuals like oil pump, followers etc.
