What is the gauge of the battery cable for a 1989 Mini 30? :) Was planning on going to an auto electric shop to buy a new one.

I went for a 25mm2 cable, which is somewhere towards an AWG 3 (26.7mm2) and an AWG 4 (21.2mm2) is fitted as standard IIRC. Someone might know better, though.

It's one occasion when bigger really is better. Welding cable is often thinner & more flexible, thinner strands - smaller gaps.
