Im a novice at this... but I cant seem to find any videos or any online info that I can understand about these fittings...

Im fitting new fuel lines. Im running 1/4" rubber hose at the tank to a fitting in the boot hole, rubber from the boot hole to copper and copper underneath, copper to rubber and then to a fitting in the bulkhead, braided rubber from there to the fuel pump, copper round the back of the manifold and back to braided rubber to the carb.

I want to fit the Torques version of the Aeroquip bulkhead fittings - I want one in the boot and one in the front.

I cant for the life of me work out what size I need. I initially thought AN-4 but struggled to find the bulkhead AN-4 fitting. Other types of fittings were AN-4 size but not so much the bulkhead one. When I found it, it referred to a different mm size for the equivalent 1/4" (6.4mm). Ive since discovered (I think) that the AN-4 size, if it refers to 1/4" in size, its referring to the outer diameter of the fuel line, not the inner hole.

1) does anyone run these fittings

2) if running a 1/4" (inner hole) rubber line into them, what size fitting do you have?

3) is it as simple as measuring my OD on my rubber hose...?

I understand 3 may be a very silly question but before I order something that doesnt fit, I just want to be triple sure. The AN sizes baffle me. Thanks.

Sizing is as follows

"AN" (Army-Navy) sizes were established by the Aerospace industry years ago. The numbers are equal to the outside diameter [OD] of the tubing in 1/16"

so AN4 is 1/16 x 4 = 4/16 which is 1/4”

That’s a great guide from them, thanks for the link. Push fit seems an easier option for me, thanks
