hello - i have a '65 countryman that is positive ground . would prefer to keep it that way.

the previous owner at one point installed a single speaker in the dash in maybe the 70's or 80's. the head unit was long ago removed, the antennae is still there.

i would like to put a new dual voice speaker in the spot in the dash where the old speaker is, and this product by 'Out of Sight Audio' to use as a bluetooth audio source, hidden, without a head unit.

they claim that device can send bluetooth audio to a couple speakers. and with just one live feed and a ground, no further concerns regarding positive ground. seems too good to be true!?

i just want to play music off my phone, dont need radio, would love to keep the setup hidden apart from the single speaker hole that is already in my dash.

my questions

has anyone used anything like this? is this safe to use in a positive ground vehicle? any questions i should ask the manufacturer?

seems simple enough for me to install as a novice?

and the speaker itself would remain safe?

i'll be happy with just one speaker, but i assume if i add an amp or subwoofer, which require power, the situation gets way more complicated as far as positive ground.

thanks for any tips !

In my 69 Elf (converted to -ve earth) I've used one of the amps below and it works really well.

For +ve earth I'm guessing you'd switch the car end of the cables around.  In my head the speakers would need the speaker cables the wrong way around too match, so the cone moves in and out correctly, but I'm sure there are more electrically minded people about that can confirm.

Speaker wise I've bought shallow mount speakers and built some small mdf boxes for under the seats. I looked at these, but wanted more control of the quality of my speakers, but this is essentially what I built & covered in accoustic carpet. Wiring under the carpet.

Oh and I used this 3D printed mount to mount it under the dash, reachable but just out of sight.

All in very happy & just considering whether to use the same amp for my 1995 mini or keep the head unit.

Looking at the device is states it works with both positive and negative earth, so that will be fine. It looks to be a Bluetooth receiver with an built in amplifier so you would have to connect power to it and connect speakers and that is the only wiring required. I assume you then pair it with your phone to play music. It does seem to do exactly what you want
