
Mk1 Boot To Mk3 Retrofit.

So, looks like I'll have to drill new holes in the boot or rear panel. Rear panel may be easier. Any thoughts please?

Went from mk3 to mk1 boot on my 72 mk3 with no issues.

As said should be a straight swap unless something has been changed to non-standard on bootlid or your Mini....photos would help.

The hinges are labeled RH and LH if you look at the casting on the back of the hinges.
They do look the wrong way round in the pictures but I'm not sure that swapping them will make enough difference though especially assuming that the hinges are still fitted as they were with the old bootlid?
Having them wrong tends to just cause minor alignment issues and slight binding when opening and closing
Might be worth doing some measuring up
Mark a centre line on the hinge panel and measure out to the hinge mounting holes and report here with them so one of us can compare
do the same with the bootlid too
