Does anyone on here run the KAD 7.9" brake calipers under 10" wheels?

Which wheels do you use?

Did you need spacers to stop rubbing?

I'm running 7.9" KAD calipers with vented discs, drive flanges for mini 8.4" discs (not metro turbo offset) no wheel spacers and 6x10 genuine Minilites with 100mm back space.

Ta, I wonder if any 5" wide wheels would be ok.

I didn't realise there was a different offset for the drive flange for the Metro Turbo. I presume the Turbo version would push the wheel farther out more than a standard drive flange?

Thanks, Blimey 7x10's !!

i was hoping Dunlop D1's might be alright

My old 5×10 GB's cleared ok.
Metro turbo flanges push the wheels out further than mini flanges and mess up steering geometry.
KAD calipers mount further inboard than metro ones and the inner face of the disc bell needs modifying so the disc can be moved inboard too.
KAD sell the discs ready modified.

I was looking at the price difference between the KAD discs and discs available from MiniSpares.

I was thinking of getting some non-vented 8.4" discs and having them ground down to 7.9" diameter.

I presume this won't work if the caliper spacing/centre line is different?

You need to remove material from the inside face of the disc bell to allow it to be moved further inboard- around 6mm if I remember correctly.
The disc diameter also needs reducing by 1/2" as you mentioned.

Yes, that's my old lathe. It was a bit tricky getting 8.4" discs mounted on such a small lathe.
