I'm.
In a slow process of an engine rebuild
I.ve taken out all.the oil gallery plugs also the oil relief valve
Just read on mini spares
The seating in the block that the 12H865 oil pressure release valve sits in, when fitting the end with the slight taper goes into the block first.

Tapped M8 to make removal from the block easy. We recommend that you leave the old seating in the block if having it acid dipped or any other chemical cleaning as this can cause a slight amount of seating metal to be erased, therefore remove seat after cleanig before fitting the new one.

£10.40 exc vat£12.48 inc vat
I was advised to take it out before cleaning at the machine shop.

Any ideas on this.?

Yes, I would recommend removing it before cleaning.

It intersects the Oil Way to No. 3 Main Bearing too, so with it out, you can properly inspect the Oil Way following cleaning to make sure it's clean.
