Hello I’m looking for my old mini

“1982 Austin Morris Mini 1000 Red with a white roof
Number Plate: BCD986Y”

I sold it back In 2018 which I instantly regretted doing I’ve been looking for this car ever since..

I had this car when I was 19 I loved this little mini so bloody much and I still can’t believe i actually sold it.

I would always take it from London down to the coast in the summer it was such a good year “World Cup year” I even took it across France and would always get funny looks from the French haha never felt so patriotic when driving that car 🇬🇧

I was new to the classic car game so I was always worried that I wasn’t looking after the car properly and wasn’t too good at mechanics either but since then I’ve had 4 different classic cars all Vdubs but I have always wanted to get back to my roots and get my old mini back!

The reason I sold my pride and joy was because I was joining the army and never had a garage to store it in basically I didn’t want it to be left on the road and turn into a rust bucket so I thought I was doing the right thing

The plan was to stay in touch with the new owner and then hopefully buy it back in the future but I lost all contact with the lady I sold it too and she has since sold it on..

If you could give me some advice on how to find it? or if you know the current owner then please forward this message on to them I fully understand that it could now be their pride and joy and probably reading this and thinking “How Sad” haha but if you or they ever get bored of it then I’ll be happy to buy it back in the future! Also a fair deal unfortunately I’m no millionaire 😂

So some advice would be great so far I’ve tried

Instagram mini clubs
I’ve written a letter to the DVLA
I’ve put a ad on EBay “Classic Morris Mini 1000 1982”

But to no avail

I know it was sold in 2021
I know it’s sorn
and I know it hasn’t had an mot or been insured since I sold it..

It was in a pretty good condition when I sold it so unless its been in an accident it shouldn’t have been scrapped or in a field somewhere.. well hopefully not

I want to post a photo but haven’t got a clue how too 😅

IF this was your car were there any other distinguishing features apart from the wide wheels, cooper interior, & spot-lamps?
