Long time in the planning - day 1

A chilly start, some very light frost, starting to cue up for their driver's briefing and flag off start

Hi Spider,

Thank you for the update on the trip, great pictures.

I think you have more Mokes in one picture than we have in the whole of Blitty.

Who is Jack another fossil friend    or is that a selfie?

Jack does grace the pages from time to time. He was on this trip with me a couple of years back;-

I wouldn't put him in a 'fossil' class, though, he is in a class, one of his own !

Funnily enough, I've been watching a guy on YouTube on a road trip from Sydney to Perth in an Austin 1100S (ADO16). Looks like a lot of fun!!!

Having done Perth to Sydney a couple of times in the Moke, I can attest to it being a hell of a long way, but if you have the time, an awesome trip / adventure for sure. So many travel across is as getting from A to B and miss so much, eg, the world's longest golf course is out on the Nullabour Plain.

Day 3 of the Event - we had a choice of 2 cruises.

One to the All British Day at Echunga (sorry, I didn't go to this one and so I have few photos to post up)

The other Cruise was to the Murray River township of Mannum, via the Swan Reach and Walkers Flat Ferry crossings

How many Mokes can you get on to an 8 Car Ferry ?

hhuGx2b.jpg

K8mRhId.jpg

The Murray. It was only a few weeks ago in flood, one of those 'once in a life time' type floods !

I never tire of this countryside.

Thanks Spider, more awesome pics! I think I can see 15 Mokes on that 8 car ferry ⛴

Seriously liking that early Landrover, very nice.

Cheers, Steve.

Excellent pics and reports. You gotta love a ferry crossing on the Murray.
A bit of trivia, Over its 2500 km length there are 58 crossings on the Murray River of which 14 are ferries.
