Hello,
Just a question for you guys who have seen these and have an opinion on them.
Not after a comparison between original shim types and these ones, but more a comparison between these two options of maintenace free ball joints.
Have any of you used these, and have you had any issues?
Have any of you used both of these types, and prefer one over the other? If so, can you give some detail?
They are quite a different price, and I just want to make the best informed decision before I purchase.
Minispares is selling these ones, which are made by Delta in Japan. http://minispares.co...-GSJ166KIT.aspx
They are also available from https://classicminis...ee-ball-joints/
The other ones are from Guess Works, which are apparently also from Japan (made in Japan - I am unsure, but via Japan at least). http://www.guess-wor...play.htm?id=611
The Minispares (and Classic Minis Japan) ones state 50,000KM or 10 years, service life. Unsure about the Guess Works one.
They apparently are not the same thing though, not made by the same company, and they are slightly different. The Guess Works one apparently differs as the "angular rotation is 8% less, and the base is also higher" compared to the Minispares ones. How that affects anything in practice, I am not really sure.
I am just trying to make an informed decision about which to buy. As the guess works ones are about half the price - which is not insignificant.
I want to try the non-shimmed route, as I have a vtec mini and its a little harder on ball joints than standard, and its just a bit annoying to have to shim them especially when in a rush, as it always seems to happen.
Any information you have would be appreciated.
Thanks
