Looking at these exterior door handles,  some of the earlier mini's have a button? which goes between the exposed end of the door handle, the other end of where the lock is and the body, can,t seem to find out the real name of this part or where to source it?

In the Motor Racing world, we used to call that "The Trouser Button", because on some occasion, as the driver pulled away, the forward facing door handle caught the Scrutineer's trousers.

Thereafter, we either had to have that button, or remove and replace the handle so that it pointed backwards.

I think they were fitted to very late mk1's and mk2's. I used to flip the door handles for Rallies.
