I was looking to replace the plate beneath my brake & clutch master cylinder as it’s rotten and split where the engine steady bar connects. I understand that I need to remove the clevis pins from both the brake and clutch pedals, in order to lift up the cylinders to access the plate. Upon inspection the clutch pedal was as I expected, with a clevis pin and retaining clip, but the brake pedal doesn’t have the same set up. It looks like a flat pin head either side of the pedal, with no retaining clip.

Does anyone know what this is and how it should be removed?

That’s normal when you have a servo fitted, the clevis is on the top side.

12 - NAM8539 - Brake pedal R/H when servo fitted from 1988. As said Clevis is up the top of pushrod behind the servo/master cylinder assembly.

Diagram of the later servo pedal (item 12) here:-

Rover made it just that little bit harder to twist the additional elbow in and up through the bulk head...

Gee thanks...
