I have owned my pick up fo years and have never had a problem engine wise but in the last couple of months the fumes are getting in the cabin.Any ideas?

What sort of fumes are you getting that you didn't notice before? If it's fuel you can smell, the first port of call would be to check your fuel lines for any split hoses or damage. Or if it smells like exhaust, then perhaps your exhaust fumes are leaking out from somewhere in the engine bay such as where the manifold connects to the downpipe.

Check breather hoses are still connected/not split along with advice above.

Maybe worth getting an engine optimisation from someone like AC Dodd who can tune the fuelling and timing, then optimise the rest of the parts

I had exhaust fumes coming into the cabin. It turned out to be a gap between head and exhaust manifold. This also made the car much louder when accelerating.

Start at the head and work your way down to exhaust tip.
Question for you though remember the pickmup is 2" longer and as such exhaust needs a we bitty more also....
2" extra to take the fumes away... also consider checking boot grommits..
Always drive with window down fumes can be very dangerous..
