Hi my brain is on overdrive for nagging me on fault finding after re-building a gearbox for the first time. 

I have a 4-synchro remote setup, and so far so good, except for finding this info on a plunger that I don't remember seeing when stripping the box, the build, or any one of the build videos I have seen:

Just to check - it looks like this plunger (also called 'the pill' by some) is only found in the 3-synchro boxes upto '68, and is not needed / not part of the 4-synchro sets post '68 and beyond, right? 

 

It seems silly, but just want to make sure.., now as everything is in place on my box... :)

Finding the 2nd gear plunger......................

 

There are probably many people here who know what I mean, about being relieved to find their plunger on the floor in a dark corner of their workshop.

Yes had that with the synchro ballbearings after they went ballistic. Found one hidden inside a wood-plane hanging on the wall, the relief was almost worth the agony of hunting for it.

But I still need confirmation…that the plunger in question is only found in 3-synchros?
