Backfiring/ Cutting Out With New Coil/ Dizzy?

Hi just wondering if someone could advise, I changed over the dizzy / coil on my 998 mini to the products below and since i fitted them i had trouble keeping the engine running, the carb etc used to run but i was problematic at the time, ive got a refurbed one to go on ill get tuned properly,

 

but just wondering if somone could confirm if the below items are okay and wouldnt neccesarily cause any issues? its a 86 998,

this was about 5 years ago when i fitted thes bits and other stuff got in the way so the cars been sitting since then, but i had these issues from memory and left it under covers

A 59D and 1.5ohm coil should work fine together. Does the wiring loom still have the standard 1.5ohm resistor?

If the car has been sitting for 5 years the petrol would have gone off and if the engine even starts it will often misfire, run rough and cut-out.

 

If you have not put in fresh fuel you will need to drain the old fuel from the tank and clean the carb of any sediment in the float chamber.

 

New E10 petrol also attacks old rubber fuel pipes and causes leaks, Minispares sell E10 resistant fuel pipe.
