If it's the same type of gearbox that's fitted to your van then it might be worth keeping for spares. NOTE: That particular box you have there is not actually a mini one, it's an Austin 1300 type where the remote shifter bolts to the box via a sandwich plate. Mini ones bolted to the box directly. Having said that, I think the Innocenti minis might have used a sandwich plate but I'm not 100% certain.
The 22g1128 4 syncro remote gearbox is my box of choice. It was fitted between 1967 and late 1972 to minis and Austin 1300's.
In good condition I think it has the nicest gear change of all the shifter types, in poor condition it's a bit of a lucky dip gear change.
The remote shifter holds the engine rock solid, no need for any additional engine steadies.
The box can easily be modified to run the later supposedly superior mainshaft and layshaft if required.
