Hi!

Hoping you good folks can help me with my plan to install an electric oil temp gauge for my A-series Metro.  Does anyone have a Veglia Borletti oil temp gauge, and know which sender I can use?  My plan is to install a sump nut adaptor (like this: https://www.minispar...assic/HPS8.aspx) but I don't know whether the sender for the Smiths gauges will be suitable for the Veglia Borletti.  I've got a couple of oil temp gauges (one for my daily, and another for my Turbo) - the gauges themselves are new, and there's supposed to be a sender in the box; but there isn't.

I like random gauges, and plan on installing the same style VB gauges for oil temp, coolant temp, and volts.  I'm kind of hoping (???) that the coolant temp gauges will run off the sender in the cylinderhead, but even less sure about the oil temp sender.

Is anyone able to help out?

Thanks!

Dan.

If you can "borrow" a Smiths sender, try it, and if it moves the needle on the gauge, buy one.

So long as the needle moves, your passenger won't ask if the gauge is broken.

A fellow Mini racer had two oil temp gauges, one either side of the oil cooler.

Although he was better informed about the temperature of his oil, he was none the wiser as he didn't know what the ideal temperature of his oil should be.

Bit hard finding information on these.

You may well end up buying a sender that suits you to fit and fitting a gauge matcher to sort it all out.

Fair comment - I have no idea what the oil temp should be.  It's more important for the Turbo - but still: no idea what's good.

Yep, I checked out a gauge matcher after a bit of a search on the forum.  Looks like it might be a win, if I can't find a suitable sender.

Seems that a sender for a Jaeger gauge would suit - though I don't know which Jaeger sender I'd need.

Does anyone know if all Jaeger senders will drive the Jaeger gauge, and all I'd the need would be to find one with a suitable thread?
