I’m removing the dash from my Sidewalk, going back to a 3 clock binnacle and shelf.  I have all the available parts but item 50 in the below has eluded me.

https://www.somerfor...og?cPath=100730

 It’s described as “clip -offset instrument cowl to housing” but I’m not sure what that means as items 43 & 44 are described as binnacle, cowl, and housing depending on part number. So I’m not sure what these clips connect together.

So my questions are;

1) Where do these clips fit, it would appear I need 6 of them? Anyone with pictures?

2) Anybody got any of these clips they are willing to sell? I can’t seem to get them anywhere.

Thanks

It looks like you need 4-off clips for the 2 clock binnacle and 6-off clips for the 3 clock binnacle which suggests 2-off are needed for each clock....

From memory I think they clip the front plastic cowl (43 or 44) to the white plastic rear instrument housing.

On my three clock the brackets are black coloured L shaped which screw onto the fascia and push into slots on the instruments.Steve..

There are lots of binnacles on eBay for sale item no 195728168988 has the clips your in and a few others I think it will be the only way you’re going to get them.

Item 50 appears to be the clip which holds the glass front onto the face of the individual instruments.  If you're looking for the right angle clips which hold the plastic cowling onto the instrument cluster  (screwed to the cluster and fitting in flat sockets on the plastic cowling) I think you need BAU2056,  part no 24 on  https://www.somerfor...-offset-1969-89

  These are the clips shown on the cowling on ebay item no 195728168988 referenced above.

Thanks everyone for your replies.  My binnacle has the L shaped clips that Lplus & sonscar refers to attached, lucky as most on ebay have had them removed, only spotted them when I dug it out this morning.  These are part 24 in the link Lplus has given.  So I suspect that part 50 from my original post is for holding the glass in place. Note that both 24 & 50 have the same description, so one is obviously mislabelled. The glass isn't part of my dash as far as I can tell, so I can only assume that these clips must still be in place on my instruments behind it, fingers crossed.

Just waiting for a few more nits and I can crack on, hopefully sorting some other little issues behind the dash as we go.

Hi Chris, that's really kind but I have a full complement of the L shaped clips by the looks of it. Really appreciate the offer though.
