Hi all!

I was curious what the difference between the Speedwell bucket seats and the Cobra Cub? Is it just a vinyl difference?

As above, both made by Cobra. I ended up buying the Speedwell ones as I liked the branding on them, very happy with them. The pictures on minispares aren't the best, they almost look like basketweave on there but they're just smooth vinyl.

Nice! These look really good. I quite like the Speedwell branding as well. How do you find the seats for comfort/driving position? I'm about 6' and of slim build, so not too worried about the seats being too narrow.

I bought a set of corbeau seats and you can have whatever logo you want stitched on

Sorry for the intrusion on this thread but I'm looking at buying a pair of these seats. Are the additional subframes required for fitting these seats to a 1968 model that didn't have locking seats as standard?

I like them, they look perfect in the interior and I find them pretty comfortable.  I have also got cobra classics which I ran daily for a few years and had them in the van for a couple of weeks before the cubs and these aren't as comfortable initially as the classics, you feel more like you're sitting "on" the cubs rather than "in" like you do on classics and other deeper bucket seats. But I have done a few miles in mine now and I would say they are absolutely fine. For the cost of them I am happy.

Mine do seem to have an issue in the manufacturing process where there's a panel in the back that you can feel under tension and it "pops" slightly when you push back in the seat, kinda like if you were flexing a sheet of plastic,  but I don't really mind about that and I am expecting them to wear in somewhat and that goes away.

I am using some aftermarket subframes with the locking hoops but you can find them without the locking mech for earlier cars. they use the standard cobra mounting points so plenty of options to choose from.

Thanks for the thoughts! I was considering the Cobra Classics as well, but I like the style of the Speedwells/cubs more. I have not sat in either, so it's good to hear your experience. Cheers!
