Hello

How can I avoid the wrinkle on the fillet ? I installed it with the tool, but after a while it gets wrinkled all around

I’ve tried but can’t find one that doesn’t. If you look at the end and see the convex shape of the foil strip and how you have to bend it to get it in the rubber you’re putting a massive strain on the foil strip. I’ve given up on it and come to the conclusion that it’s just another crap replacement for original equipment.
If the foil strip was flat instead of convex the stress you put on it, getting it in, would be greatly reduced. I’ve cut up an old wrinkled one and found that the foil isn’t actually bonded to the plastic and even put a new unused piece that’s not been stressed in the sun for a couple of days and even that wrinkles. So if you find one that doesn’t wrinkle let me know and good luck!

I think the only way to avoid the mylar "chrome" wrinkling is to use a black one instead.

I fitted black in mine and it looks so much better than tarnished wrinkled plastic chrome.Other opinions are also valid,Steve..

Steve is the black strip made of the same quite hard material and does it fit in, in the usual challenging manner.

The black strip is very flexible and was much more challenging to fit than the chrome.Steve..
