Just got a set of kyb gas adjust.
They only cone with 2 metal plate/ washers, whereas the standard shock has more.
All the suppliers of the kyb show just 2 plates so this is fine to fit like that?

I would say they are correct and the others were wrong. The rubbers fit either side of the turret so the third washer would prevent proper location.Steve..

The standard shock was from minispares and come with 4 washers
I presumed they sandwiched between the bushes?

Recently fitted a set of Protechs, they came with 4 plates. The old Spax I took off also had 4 plates.

You want:
Shock
Washer
Bush
Shock tower
Bush
Washer
Nut

If you have a washer on the shock tower it’ll give you noise & vibrations

The Minispares site has the part diagram
