.100 Swing Needle Position

Best Answer KTS , 11 May 2023 - 06:36 PM

from what i've found online, station 12 seems to be the maximum point for a 1.75" carb, so part throttle will obviously be a below that

some interesting information on the following page (reference to what stations were in use at different load/revs is at the bottom)

Does anyone know the approximate HIF44 needle station position at steady state cruise, 3400 rpm? Mid range 8-10, 10-14? Or less around 6-8? Or are there too many variables?

Quite right, sometimes for tuners it's impossible to share some parts of knowledge because it's what is essential to make you money 😉

My recommendation is for the OP to get in touch and sort a tuning day, well worth the money!

The 998cc engine a local guy tuned (trained By AC) was totally transformed and will be kept as sweet as I can. I actually have some more work for that guy (Jim Wilson)

This OP would love to have AC tune my car except the airfare and shipping costs from the United States is prohibitive. However our club is mulling over the idea of inviting the International Man of Mystery come to the US for tuning sessions….

I am in the process of trialling remote tuning and training via video call. Will let you know if it works out or not.
